FAQ - SITEWORKS MAINE

Common Questions About Forestry Mulching & Land Clearing

Do you remove stumps?

Forestry mulching grinds brush, saplings, and small trees down to ground level. Larger stumps remain, but we can coordinate removal if your project requires excavation.

Do I need a permit to clear my land?

Most projects in Maine do not require permits unless work is being done near wetlands, streams, or protected areas. We’ll let you know if your property might need additional approval.

How much does forestry mulching cost in Maine?

Costs depend on acreage, terrain, and density of growth. Most residential projects are quoted by the job rather than by the acre. Contact us for a fast, free estimate.

How long does it take to clear an acre?

On average, our CAT 275 XE can mulch 1–3 acres per day depending on brush density and terrain. Smaller residential projects can often be completed in a single day.

How far do you travel?

We serve clients within 1.5 hours of Hudson, ME, covering Penobscot and Hancock Counties. This includes Bangor, Brewer, Orono, Old Town, Hampden, Hermon, Veazie, Orrington, Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Trenton, and Blue Hill.

Can you help with invasive plants?

Yes. We regularly mulch invasive brush such as honeysuckle, barberry, bittersweet, and multiflora rose. For Japanese knotweed, we recommend a specific plan since mulching alone will not eradicate it.

What type of projects do you handle?

We handle lot reclaiming, pasture and trail clearing, fence and property line clearing, invasive brush control, and site clearing for camps and construction.

Are you insured?

Yes. Siteworks Maine is fully insured for forestry mulching and land clearing projects. Proof of coverage is available on request.

Do you provide tree services or arborist work?

No. Siteworks Maine focuses on forestry mulching and land clearing, not tree trimming or arborist services. If your project requires tree removal, pruning, or specialty arborist work, we can recommend trusted local partners to handle that portion.
